Construction is close to beginning on Cincinnati's One River Plaza. Twenty-eight condos have been pre-sold, according to developers.

With condos priced from $550,000 to $2 million, Miller Valentine has said it will begin construction after meeting a pre-sell mark of $35 million to $36 million.

The project is about eight condo sales away from that goal, Schoonover said.

"And really, we have more than eight people interested in signing contracts," she said. "We're probably going to wait, though, until after Christmas to start digging in the ground."

The project will sit practically on the Ohio River at the foot of the Purple People Bridge. The first phase will include a 14-story tower and about 80 condominiums. A second 9- to 10-story tower is planned.
