San Francisco to get green Transbay Transit Center

The Transbay Joint Powers Authority has approved the green design by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects for the new Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco. A glass tower will sit next to the glass sweeping, glass-enclosed transit center, which will feature a 5.5 acre public park on the roof of the structure. The new building will help to centralize the regions transportation network, while creating a dramatic public space. The tower feature spassive solar shading and innovative wind turbines for generating electricity.

Shipping Container House

This contemporary looking house in East Bay overlooking San Francisco, is made of shipping containers. Designed by Leger Wanaselja Architecture, the two-bedroom house is constructed of three insulated containers. Two 40-foot containers are stacked on the left and the third is cut in half and stacked to the right. A glass atrium fills the space in between.
